Search Project

In 2023, nearly half a million unique searches were performed on www.stir.ac.uk - making search a vital tool for prospective students. The previous system was slow, inaccessible, and visually uniform, especially on mobile, making it difficult to scan and engage with the site’s rich content. I led the redesign to deliver a faster, more intuitive, and accessible search experience. The new interface improves mobile performance, introduces visual differentiation between result types, and better surfaces high-value content for prospective students - transforming search into a strategic gateway to the university’s offerings.
